Paul Portner, Barbara H. Partee, 2002, Formal Semantics: The Essential Readings, Blackwell.
I looked over the introduction. I wondered for a while if I should buy this anthology, but it is too comprehensive and wide-ranged. I would be not going to digest the rich contents. I might go through first three papers, though.
1. The Proper Treatment of Quantification in Ordinary English: Richard Montague.
2. A unified analysis of the English bare plural: Greg Carlson.
3. Generalized quantifiers and natural language: Jon Barwise and Robin Cooper.
The last one looks the most important for me. Kaplan's lectures on "on denoting" are closely related to this paper. Now I see a bit about a propositional function and its relation to a quantifier.
The notations used by Montague are awefully difficult to understand at least to me. I found this; montague grammar. It could be helpful, though I have no idea how correct it is.
